Soundedit Festival (27.10.2016 12:00 - 30.10.2016 22:00)
The 8th edition of the International Festival of Music Producers and Sound Designers Soundedit will take place in Łódź. This year’s edition includes a meeting with Brian Eno who will present his newest ambient instalment album, “The Ship”. Brodka will play a special concert in the Łódź Philharmonic. We’ll also witness a unique performance by Raz Dwa Trzy. Prior to Saturday’s award ceremony, Bauhaus’s singer Peter Murphy will play an acoustic show.
We have a great pleasure to once again invite all lovers of music, records and concerts to Łódź, but this time not only to Klub Wytwórnia. This place remains the central point for our festival events, but the International Festival of Music Producers and Sound Designers Soundedit ’16 spreads to other locations in the city. Łódź will truly become a city of great music.
Let’s meet in Klub Wytwórnia for lectures, workshops, concerts and each year’s culminating point – our special “The Man with the Golden Ear” award ceremony. Come and join us at the club Thursday to Saturday, 27-29 October.
Thursday – October, 27th – will traditionally be devoted to industry workshops, this time focusing on JBL sound systems.
For Friday – October, 28th – along with the Narodowe Centrum Kultury (National Centre for Culture) we’ve prepared a continuation of last year’s “Anthology of Polish Electronic Music” project.
The entire day will be devoted to meetings with artists and concerts of electronic music, including a performance by a revolutionary Berlin band Atari Teenage Riot. The group’s leader, Alec Empire, will also prepare a special DJ set comprised of electronic music created by Polish artists.
After 8 years of trying, we were finally able to invite to Soundedit an artist once described as “God”, an absolute legend – Brian Eno. Outstanding musician, composer, producer and Grammy Award winner. An exquisite and subtle artist, truly a top class act. He’ll visit Łódź and talk about his newest album “The Ship” as well as his previous artistic achievements and musicians he worked with. Fabryka Sztuki (3 Tymienieckiego Street) will host Brian Eno’s new installation (with the participation of the artist) on Sunday, 30 October, at 5 P.M.
We’re sure that the visit of such an illustrious guest in Łódź will be widely noticed. We were trying to have Brian Eno join us at Soundedit since the festival’s first edition. We consider his acceptance of our invitation a huge success and a great honour for our festival.
During our award gala, which will take place on Saturday, October 29th, at Klub Wytwórnia, Brian Eno will receive “The Man with the Golden Ear” statuette for entirety of achievements in a domain of music production. Prior to the award ceremony, he’ll meet with the festival’s audience.
Right after Eno’s meeting with the audience, his great fan – Bauhaus’s singer Peter Murphy – will enter the stage. He’ll play a special acoustic concert comprised of his solo work as well as Bauhaus’s music.
This year’s award ceremony will also feature a special two-hour show by Raz Dwa Trzy with ICON orchestra and Henryk Miśkiewicz’s quartet. The musicians will be joined by singers whose names will be revealed at a later stage.
On Sunday, October 30th, along with Łódź Philharmonic we invite you to Brodka’s concert – a part of her tour promoting her newest album “Clashes”.
As always Soundedit is not only about performances, but also includes meetings, workshops and lectures by our outstanding guests. Just like every year, we’ll be visited by producers, composers and artists responsible for the sound of countless legendary albums and singles. Prepare for many stories told by them. It’s one of those things that make our festival so special.
We’re again supported by our friends and media partners: Łódzkie Centrum Wydarzeń (Lodz Event Centre), Marshal Office of Lodz Voivodship, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, National Centre for Culture, TVP, Polish Radio, Manufaktura, Empik, music labels, cinemas, newspapers, websites, magazines and many other institutions and companies. The sound for this year’s edition of the festival will be taken care of by ESS Audio. The company will bring the newest JBL sound systems especially for Soundedit.
More highlights of this year’s edition will be revealed in due course. As always, we’ll do our best to assure that our festival has something interesting to offer to all fans of good music as well as to industry people.
We’re also happy to announce that by signing a contract with Łódzkie Centrum Wydarzeń (Lodz Event Centre), we have ensured Soundedit’s steady development over the next three editions.

The main theme of the festival stays the same – “I Am the Sound”. This is true for anyone who’ll join us in Łódź at the last weekend of October to get to know more about the work of music producers, listen to lectures, take part in workshops and discussions. Soon we’ll announce further surprising events of this year’s edition of our festival.
I Am the Sound! I am the tone. I am the music. Welcome to Soundedit. Welcome to Łódź.
